Cocoon House celebrates Black History Month

This month Cocoon House celebrated Black History Month. Each of our agency departments had the opportunity to create a project honoring Black History Month. Our youth and staff sought to answer the question "Why do we celebrate Black History Month?" In this issue of Take A Closer Look, we are highlighting projects completed by our youth during this important month.

Jason, our East County Advocate, describes the poster-board made by our U-Turn youth after watching and discussing the film "Hidden Figures."

The talented team from our long-term housing program created a portrait of President Obama, our first African American president, from over 1200 miniature Rubik's Cubes.

Our Prevention team highlighted youth-created art focused on their favorite Black artists.
