Volunteering at Cocoon House

Volunteers are essential to the work at Cocoon House.  Volunteers help enrich the services we provide at Cocoon House in many different ways everything from, tutoring teens to organizing donations, teaching a life skills class, or providing a hot meal, all are important to providing excellent care for at-risk and homeless youth and their families.

Donating just a few hours of your time makes a difference in the lives of Cocoon youth.  Take a look at the available opportunities and volunteer requirements.  If you fit the requirements and are interested in helping we would love to hear from you!

Volunteer of the Month: Lynn Willett!

Cocoon House has many amazing volunteers, and the Volunteer of the Month award is our way of saying thank you to these generous people who have donated so much of their time and skills. This month, Cocoon House would like to recognize Lynn Willett as the Volunteer of the Month!

Lynn has helped Cocoon House with many different tasks, she has spent time helping to organize our donation room, preparing letters for mailings, and assisting with other projects.  These tasks are important to providing the best services we can and we wouldn’t be able to do it without the help of volunteers like Lynn.

Lynn began volunteering with Cocoon House in May of 2012.  After being in retirement for a few years Lynn was interested in giving back, so she began asking around and was referred to us by friend who also volunteers at Cocoon House.  We are so glad to have her on our volunteer team, she is always willing to help whenever she can and her bright personality lights up our office.

“While I don't interact with the kids who are helped directly by Cocoon House, I definitely feel I am helping them.  It is a blessing to me”, Lynn told us about her volunteer experience.

Thank you Lynn for your dedication to helping Cocoon House!
