Admin

  • The Executive Assistant is a key support to the VP/CPO and, occasionally, the CEO, providing essential administrative support. The position proactively optimizes the VP/CPO and CEO’s schedule to organize their days and prioritize their time for executive-level, strategic work. The Executive Assistant will need strong time management skills, attention to detail, and a high level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information will be required. This role will be managing multiple duties and concurrent requests with varying deadlines.

    Executive Assistant Duties & Responsibilities: 

    Full-Time 40 hrs/week | On-site 

    Salary: $60,000-$63,000 DOE  

    This position is typically a 9am-5pm work schedule with required evening flexibility as needed for community events.  

    • Comprehensive administrative support for the assigned Executive, including calendar and inbox management, scheduling, and organizing daily work priorities  

    • Track action items and deadlines to ensure timely completion of commitments    

    • Coordinate all aspects of the Executive’s meetings and appointments, including booking spaces, preparing and distributing materials to attendees, taking notes, and conducting appropriate follow-up support  

    • Attend meetings on behalf of the Executive and provide debrief and follow-up support as needed. These meetings include internal and external partner meetings.  

    • Support planning and execution of team events, leadership meetings, retreats, and partner site-visits  

    • Assist with creation of presentation materials, spreadsheets, and various other documents

Youth Housing (Everett & Monroe)

  • At Cocoon House, we empower young people, families, and communities in Snohomish County to break the cycle of homelessness through outreach, housing, and prevention. As a Youth Housing Support Staff, internally referred to as a Residential Youth Counselor, you will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for teens in the care of Cocoon House, promoting positive interaction, providing life skills, social skills, and other enrichment activities at our Transitional Living Program located in Everett and/or Emergency Shelter located in Monroe. Youth Housing Support Staff have the opportunity to build supportive relationships with clients and model healthy boundaries while working alongside them in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, knowledge of best practices in youth development, and a desire to make a positive difference in their lives.     Youth Housing Support Staff Duties & Responsibilities

    Full-Time, Part-Time, On-Call/Relief Hours Available | On-site in Everett & Monroe locations. Both programs are 24/7 and have three shifts. Please note that certain shifts may not be available at the time you apply for the role. Those hours are:

    • Day - 8:00am to 4:00pm

    • Swing - 3:30pm to 11:30pm

    • Overnight -11:00pm to 8:30am

    Starting Wages: $21-23/hr depending on shift | +$1.50/hr pay differential for multi-lingual skills with additional paperwork

    • Build supportive relationship with youth and staff with a positive and collaborative approach.

    • Maintain and model healthy and safe boundaries with youth.

    • Accept a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices.

    • Assess emergency situations, gather pertinent information, and provide proper support.

    • Follow mandating reporting and licensing policies and procedures.

    • De-escalate youth in crises and utilize anti-racist, inclusive, equity-based, and trauma-informed care in all of their work.

    • Process intakes and exits for youth, provide orientation to incoming youth to the program, and enter required data for proper recordkeeping.

    • Partner with case managers to support youth case plans and interact with you in alignment with their established plans. This includes communicating with fellow staff regarding the plan and maintaining appropriate logs and forms with updated information.

    • Supervise youth in the program and ensure safety while holding youth accountable to policies, guidelines,      and rules by assigning appropriate consequences in collaboration with fellow staff.

    • Assisting, demonstrating, and teaching youth household tasks.

    • Maintain cleanliness of facilities.

    • Provide meals including grocery shopping, planning, and cooking.

    • Arrange appointments, fill prescriptions, and dispense medication for youth.

    • Communicate with other providers to assure youth are following through with their commitments.

    • Respond to community calls, drop-ins, and referrals with appropriate information and directions.

    • Participate in enrichment activities programming and planning with fellow staff.

    • Provide information and directions for off-site services to youth.

Prevention

  • The Juvenile Justice Family Advocate role works with families to reduce conflict at home, strengthen family relationships, and prevent youth homelessness. This position supports families whose youth may be involved in the juvenile justice system and provides guidance and advocacy to help youth and caregivers navigate services, court involvement, and community-based resources. The Juvenile Justice Family Advocate engages families in their homes and in the community to assess strengths and needs, create goal plans, and provide family-centered case management. They maintain a caseload of up to 15 families and also help facilitate monthly parenting classes for parents and youth. This role responds to community calls, collaborates with community partners, and works collaboratively across Cocoon House programs to ensure consistency of care and coordinated support for youth and families.

    Juvenile Justice Family Advocate Duties & Responsibilities

This position also requires some weekend availability such as one weekend each month to conduct the family classes with weekday schedule adjusted to accommodate.

    Family Case Management:

    • Provide case management to 15 families working on goals to reduce conflict and increase stability in the family, including families where the youth is juvenile justice involved.

    • Establish and maintain a professional, supportive relationship with youth and their families, many of whom are involved with the juvenile justice system.

    • Support youth in creating their own goals that they want to work on with their family.

    • Collaborate effectively with Cocoon House’s Youth Engagement Team to ensure seamless services to youth and families being served by both teams.

    • Professionally represent Cocoon House when attending court at the juvenile justice center, as needed.

    • Build relationships with community partners and gather community resources for families in Snohomish County.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with coworkers and community partners to present parenting classes and support.

    • Provide low-barrier support for families through phone calls and drop-in services.

    • Provide referrals to other resources as needed, including legal advocacy supports, diversion resources, youth behavioral health supports, and juvenile justice-related community services.

    • Provide education and promote Cocoon House programs with community partners.

    • Collect needed demographics and other information from youth and their families and complete all data entry associated with family case management and drop-in sessions in a complete and timely manner.

    • Support other Cocoon House programs to increase staff knowledge around family engagement as needed.

    • Assist the Family Engagement team in training Cocoon House staff in best practices in working with families.

The Youth Advocate is responsible for supporting family case management with a total caseload of 15-20 youth. This position also supports the facilitation of diversion seminars for parents and youth monthly. They also respond to community calls, collaborate with community partners, and work collaboratively across Cocoon House programs to ensure consistency of care for youth and families.

Young Adult Housing

  • Everett, WA 

    The Coordinated Entry Navigator is responsible for linking young adults, ages 18-24, who are at risk for or experiencing homelessness to appropriate services and housing programs within Snohomish County. Based out of the Young Adult Housing department, the Navigators perform case management and resource connection for young adults experiencing homeless and enrolled in Snohomish County’s Coordinated Entry (CE) system.


    This includes helping young adults to enroll in Coordinated Entry system, in addition to other outreach and engagement activities both inside and outside of the agency. The Coordinated Entry Navigator assists with linkage to needed services and institutions and advocates on behalf of the young adults. This includes, but is not limited to: crisis intervention, meeting emergent needs, providing information and advocacy, completing and/or coordinating needs assessments, brokering for services and providing follow up with youth.

    Coordinated Entry Navigator Duties & Responsibilities

    Full-Time 40 hrs/week | On-site

    Wages: $21-$23/hr DOE 

    This position requires a typical work schedule of Monday-Friday with some flexibility to work evenings when necessary. Though flexibly scheduled, work weeks will not exceed 40 hours per week.

    • Receive referrals from multiple sources and coordinate with navigator staff, ensuring response within 48 hours. Meet with young adults experiencing homelessness throughout Snohomish County to enroll in Coordinated Entry. 

    • Collaborate and partner with other Cocoon House programs, law enforcement, resource centers, schools, churches, and detention centers in order to identify and target youth who need applicable services.

    • Case Manage all young adults in order to connect them to: resources for emergent needs, community resources, and housing. Rapidly move youth and young adults through caseloads to ensure grant outputs are met.

    • Maintain a cooperative and effective environment free of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. 

    • Collect and enter data to meet all weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and other assigned deadlines. Maintain organized, complete files.

    • Attend internal and community meetings and trainings as required.

    • Ensure contract compliance for all activities.

    Physical:

    • Ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external clients

    • Be able to hear voices and alarms.

    • Ability to read and comprehend a variety of materials

    • Ability to operate phone, computer, and record information for files and logs

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 Ibs

    • Must have ability to run up and down indoor and outdoor stairwells in case of youth emergency.

Internship Program

Cocoon House recognizes the significance of creating opportunities to develop the human services workforce, which led to the development of the agency’s internship matching program. Available internship opportunities offer an environment to learn and grow through access to in-person and online training content and, most importantly, practical application alongside our experienced staff.

Possible Duties & Responsibilities: (depending on program match)

  • Build supportive relationships with clients through a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach

  • Support case management with clients aged 12-24

    • Arrange appointments

    • Submit case and log notes

    • Complete required documentation and reporting

  • Assist with intakes, exits, and referrals into various programs

  • Lead and participate in life-skills-building activities with clients

  • Coordinate with other community providers
