executive assistant

The Executive Assistant is a key support to the VP/CPO and, occasionally, the CEO, providing essential administrative support. The position proactively optimizes the VP/CPO and CEO’s schedule to organize their days and prioritize their time for executive-level, strategic work. The Executive Assistant will need strong time management skills, attention to detail, and a high level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information will be required. This role will be managing multiple duties and concurrent requests with varying deadlines.

Youth Housing Support Staff (Everett & Monroe)

At Cocoon House, we empower young people, families, and communities in Snohomish County to break the cycle of homelessness through outreach, housing, and prevention. As a Youth Housing Support Staff, internally referred to as a Residential Youth Counselor, you will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for teens in the care of Cocoon House, promoting positive interaction, providing life skills, social skills, and other enrichment activities at our Transitional Living Program located in Everett and/or Emergency Shelter located in Monroe. Youth Housing Support Staff have the opportunity to build supportive relationships with clients and model healthy boundaries while working alongside them in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, knowledge of best practices in youth development, and a desire to make a positive difference in their lives. Outreach Youth Support Staff

At Cocoon House, we empower young people, families, and communities in Snohomish County to break the cycle of homelessness through outreach, housing, and prevention. The Outreach Youth Support Staff, internally referred to as the Outreach Youth Counselor provides a safe and supportive environment for youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness at our youth drop-in center, U-Turn - promoting positive interactions, providing life skills, social skills and enrichment activities. The Outreach Youth Counselor provides needed information and referrals, linkages to needed services, and crisis intervention. This role has a focus on reducing involvement in youth violence; increasing youths’ abilities to access services to become more self-sufficient; and increasing supports in youths’ lives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, knowledge of best practices in youth development, and a desire to make a positive difference in their lives.

Juvenile Justice Family Advocate

The Juvenile Justice Family Advocate role works with families to reduce conflict at home, strengthen family relationships, and prevent youth homelessness. This position supports families whose youth may be involved in the juvenile justice system and provides guidance and advocacy to help youth and caregivers navigate services, court involvement, and community-based resources. The Juvenile Justice Family Advocate engages families in their homes and in the community to assess strengths and needs, create goal plans, and provide family-centered case management. They maintain a caseload of up to 15 families and also help facilitate monthly parenting classes for parents and youth. This role responds to community calls, collaborates with community partners, and works collaboratively across Cocoon House programs to ensure consistency of care and coordinated support for youth and families.

Bilingual Family Advocate

The Bilingual Family Advocate role works with families to reduce conflict at home and prevent youth homelessness. They engage families in their homes and in the community to assess family strengths and needs and create goal plans to meet those needs. Family Advocates provide family case management with a total caseload of 10 to 12 families. Family Advocates also help facilitate parenting classes for parents and youth monthly. They also respond to community calls, collaborate with community partners, and work collaboratively across Cocoon House programs to ensure consistency of care for youth and families.

Cocoon House recognizes the significance of creating opportunities to develop the human services workforce, which led to the development of the agency’s internship matching program. Available internship opportunities offer an environment to learn and grow through access to in-person and online training content and, most importantly, practical application alongside our experienced staff.

Possible Duties & Responsibilities: (depending on program match)

  • Build supportive relationships with clients through a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach

  • Support case management with clients aged 12-24

    • Arrange appointments

    • Submit case and log notes

    • Complete required documentation and reporting

  • Assist with intakes, exits, and referrals into various programs

  • Lead and participate in life-skills-building activities with clients

  • Coordinate with other community providers

Youth Housing Summer Activities Internship

The Youth Housing Summer Activities Intern will partner with the Youth Housing team to plan, coordinate, and execute summer activities for clients in the Youth Housing programs. The internship opportunity prioritizes learning to develop engaging programs aligned with budget, contract, and licensing requirements while building experience through the practical application of those skills. Additionally, interns are encouraged to think creatively to meet requirements and encourage participation from youth in the programs. Ideal candidates will have strengths in attention to detail, organization, and follow through with an openness to learning and receiving coaching as part of their internship experience.
